The Roe Jan area features quiet country roads dotted with idyllic views of farms and mountains. It's a beautiful rural setting nestled between the Taconic Mountains and the Hudson River. Just two hours north of New York City and two & one-half hours west of Boston, this area offers some of the best cycling anywhere. 

The "Roe Jan" name comes from a Dutch settler, Roeliff Jansen. Today his name graces the Roeliff Jansen Park, the Roeliff Jansen Community Library, and has come to represent the vibrant community of the towns of Copake, Hillsdale and Ancram.

The area includes the historic Taconic State Park sited on the border between Columbia County, New York and Berkshire County, Massachusetts.

The Roe Jan area is an agricultural wonderland - historically known for its extensive dairy farms, now including farm-to-table operations producing grass-fed meats, poultry and produce for the Albany and New York metropolitan areas.
