Who we are

The Roe Jan Ramble is an organized annual community event held in the towns of Copake, Hillsdale & Ancram, New York, and run by volunteers. We created the Ramble to share the pleasure of riding through our scenic countryside, and to encourage you to donate money to support and extend the Harlem Valley Rail Trail for bikers, joggers, walkers & everyone.

In addition to the three towns, our sponsors are local businesses and organizations who help us cover the costs of producing this event, so that all rider donations go directly to support the Harlem Valley Rail Trail.

Special Contributing Sponsors

We offer special thanks to these contributing sponsors, who provide their time & supplies to the Ramble:

  • Bash Bish Bicycles - rider assistance & repairs

  • Copake Grange 935 - rest stop host

  • Hillsdale Supermarket - rest stop supplies

  • Little Apple Cidery - rest stop host

Help us support the Rail Trail!

The Harlem Valley Rail Trail is a paved bicycle/pedestrian path built on the railbed of the old Harlem Line of the New York Central Railroad. It is ideal for runners, bicyclists, walkers, rollerbladers, cross-county skiers, wheelchair users, hikers and dog walkers who enjoy combining the quiet beauty of rural landscapes with healthy exercise. The trail is in Columbia County, NY along the Massachusetts state line, and feeds into the Taconic State Park.

Join the friends and supporters of the trail at the Harlem Valley Rail Trail Association.
